Based out of central Massachusetts Wicked Balloons was founded in 2020 by Pilot Patrick C. Sullivan. Patrick’s interest in aeronautics began when he was a child. He started flying planes at the age of 20 and that soon expanded to helicopters and eventually Hot air and gas balloons. Patrick discovered his first balloon “Black Magic” at a storage facility. After inquiring about it he decided to purchase it despite never having flown or crewed for a balloon before.
Cora’s ballooning journey started at the age of 5 when her mother who had been crewing for fun years prior. Cora fell in love with it immediately and continued ballooning in the New England area at surrounding festivals. Cora joined the Wicked team as Crew Chief in 2022 when she jumped in to assist Patrick at a festival in Pennsylvania when he was left without a crew.
John started following Patrick into esoteric hobbies over 15 years ago, and had no reservations when randomly asked, ‘Do you want to come out and help crew a balloon flight?’. He’s been hooked ever since and has happily chased Pat and others across New England and as far west as Albuquerque.
